Over the years, The Bradford Exchange has offered a variety of collectible leather jackets for men. However, they historically struggled to launch a successful leather jacket for women. Despite our team’s reservations, I believed it was possible. Below is a documentation of how the ladies’ apparel collection gained an instant best-seller.
Inspiration
A leather jacket is a timeless part of anyone’s wardrobe, so I sought to design one that would feel equally timeless and unique to the wearer. Ultimately, the team decided on a jacket with an optional monogram embroidered on the sleeve.

Specs & Quoting
Though one of the larger obstacles for creating a ladies’ leather jacket was higher production costs, we believed that investing in creating a higher quality product would ultimately be worth it to ensure customer satisfaction. Below is a slideshow containing the specs sent to initiate project quoting.
ProoFing Artwork
Once the project’s cost of goods was finalized, I created a proofing artwork file featuring the signature repeating pattern used on all of The Bradford Exchange’s “Just My Style” line of personalized products.
SIZE CHART
When developing a new apparel template, our team was tasked with creating a size chart to ensure the perfect fit from sizes Small to 3XL. After several samples and modifications to the original measurements, we could finally approve the final size chart.
Final Product
After months of hard work perfecting the new ladies' leather jacket, it was finally time for rollout. What started as a somewhat risky endeavor quickly became a successful part of the women's apparel collection—this jacket became #2 in the Top 20 Apparel Products in only its first few months on the market in 2024!
